My name is Rubaa. I was born in Pakistan, and raised in Beijing and New York. I am a graphic designer, photographer, adventurer, casual foodie, and a snack connoisseur based in New York. I currently work full-time as a graphic designer for Columbia University School of Professional Studies. I have been providing design and photography services for over eleven years.
Along with my passion for design and photography, I love traveling, adventures, food, fashion, music, meeting new people, learning about new cultures, sunsets, pop-ups, antiques, and flea markets.
I am inspired by the moments we lose to memory. I hope to bottle up happy moments in my art to save for later. I make art that calls attention to things that other people overlook. This exploration of the overlooked helps me engage more deeply with where I am.
RANDOM FUN FACTS: ‘Rubaa’ is an Arabic name which means “prosperity”, I have traveled to over 17 countries and speak 5 languages (你好!), I love puns, French music, and shopping, I am obsessed with Trader Joes, I collect vintage cameras (over 20 and counting), my all-time favorite tv show is ‘The Office’ (US version, obv), and I love watching true crime :)
