"Je Me Souviens"

Last weekend me and my brother decided to take a last minute spontaneous trip to Canada. We stayed in Montreal and went to Quebec City for a day and stopped at Lake George and Albany on our way back home.

The highlight of my trip was meeting a childhood friend of mine that I haven't seen in over 15 years. She lives in Montreal so we decided to meet up and reminisce about old times. After catching up with her, me and brother went sight seeing in Montreal but since everything closes at 4 we were not able to see most of the places we had planned to visit.

Next day we decided to leave early and drove to Quebec City after my friend's recommendation. We visited the Montmorency Falls first with a panoramic view of Quebec City all covered in snow. It was about 5 degrees and the falls were frozen ice but the view from the falls was breathtaking. After the falls we decided to visit Old Quebec and I immediately fell in love with the narrow and cobblestoned streets lined with bistro and French boutiques. We then took a tour of La Citadelle de Québec, a long-standing active fort and a museum. After the tour, we went to the top of fort and saw a panoramic view of Quebec City at night.

Next day we decided to head back to New York and on our way back we stopped at Lake George. Since we went there off season, the entire town was closed with the exception of few restaurants. The lake was so quiet and peaceful that I did not want to leave. After Lake George, we then decided to stop by Albany to meet up with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a while and after catching up with her we decided to head back.

I wish I had more time to explore more of Montreal and Quebec City but I definitely plan to visit in summer when everything opens late. The trip may be short but I took tons of photos and will be updating my website soon so stay tuned :)
