A Ride Through History

Over the holidays, I had an opportunity to visit a secret NYC Holiday Train Shoppers Special. The train line, consisting of eight vintage New York subway cars from several different eras, runs for a few weekends each year — from the Sunday after Thanksgiving to the end of the year, only on Sundays.

It rained the day I was planning to visit and I felt lazy and thought of staying at home. But a friend of mine pushed me and told me to go and have this experience and I am glad I went. There was jazz, dancing and a ton of people dressed in antique clothing. It was one of the most interesting things I witnessed in a NYC subway station.

I sometimes tend to forget that I live in a place like New York where every day is a new beginning and full of new experiences. Just recently, a friend of mine reminded me that I live in a country like America, the land of opportunities where everything is so easy to access and I should not take it for granted. So here is to a new year full of new experiences :)
